Religious scholar Swasti Bhattacharyya of Buena Vista University led a discussion of how ancient Indian stories relate to contemporary bioethics on Friday, April 8. In her presentation, “Mothers and Mantras,” Bhattacharyya explained how birth narratives found in sacred Hindu texts address ethical issues facing the modern medical community. The presentation, hosted by Ohio Northern University’s Department of Religion and Philosophy, attracted a large crowd of both students and faculty.

‘K’ is for Kirsten, now

Just two Sundays ago, on a pleasant afternoon with temperatures in the mid-60s, Kirsten Lightel was on the brink of history.

She needed one more strikeout to become Ohio Northern’s career leader in Ks. The junior had already retired 10 batters that day, but number 11 was the big one. With one out in the top of the seventh inning, John Carroll’s Angie Zappitelli, batting .365, was the next potential victim of history.

Cancer files for bankruptcy after 2017 Relay for Life

Four students in Ohio Northern University's chapter of Sigma Tau Delta attended the 2017 convention in Louisville, KY last week. The 2016-17 academic school year was a successful year for the chapter, as many students won national awards.
