Students feel inspired after ONU Leadership Day

Ohio Northern University students were given the chance to attend a one-day leadership seminar Nov. 2, helping students learn how to go from “mess to success”. With the help of professors and Karim Ellis, a professional speaker, students were able to become more prepared for final exams and their futures after graduation.

Ada seasons have begun to change and so have student moods. Once the sun starts setting earlier and the workload gets heavier, students mental and physical health can start to deteriorate. That deterioration makes it hard to focus on the important things like school, friends and most of all sleep.

"ONU Holiday Spectacular" brings the Christmas spirit back on campus.

The holiday season is right around the corner and everyone on campus can almost hear the theater arts department practicing and rehearsing for The Holiday Spectacular.

With only 21 rehearsals in a short three-week time span, the students in this program are getting ready to showcase the 24-year running show to the Ada community November 15th through 17th.

Taylor Daniel is a junior at Ohio Northern University from Columbia City, Indiana. She majors in art education with a concentration in pre-art therapy. Daniel’s interest in art has stemmed from a lifetime of creative expression starting when she was a child.

Daniel recalls being a little kid and always doing something artistic. Whether it was coloring, drawing or painting she was always doing something creative. Her parents and teachers were always supporting her love of art by pushing her to pursue her creative passions.

The girls in "Pitch Perfect" banded together to overthrow the reigning champs of a semi-popular a capella competition in a chase for redemption. Even an unenrolled janitor in "Good Will Hunting" discovered his self-taught genius while mopping the floors of a foot-marked university hallway.

The Choral Collage Concert successfully attracted many people through engaging songs and a relatable theme. Christopher Larsen directed the Choral Collage Concert for the third year in a row. The University Singers showed their work as they performed various pieces of touching songs while drawing in the audience.

Ohio Northern is just that kind of place. The university makes its students feel as if they have the support of their family and closest friends all year round. There is a closeness and a connection between students and their professors that cannot be rivaled by any other university.
