It is a misconception about people who go hungry or do not have enough to eat that they are homeless.

This idea has narrowed how the public perceives those who go hungry and avoids seeing the entire scope of hunger in the world.  Worldwide, hunger is responsible for more deaths than AIDS and Malaria.  Hunger is in every town and in every state of the United States.

One in every six Americans is hungry. This figure doesn’t apply just to the homeless; it refers to children, elderly and working men and women.

The 2014-15 season at Ohio Northern University’s Elzay Gallery of Art has opened a photo exhibition, “I Dream of All Things: Photographs by Emily Jay,” on display until October 10th. The exhibit features the work of Emily Jay, a current art instructor and 2010 alumnus.

The photographs spread across the walls of the gallery take a deep look at normal things to bring out themes of betrayal and beauty. This body of work attempts to illustrate the famous ballad by poet John Keats, La Belle Dame Sans Merci, including parts of Marie Antoinette’s life.
