"ONU Holiday Spectacular" brings the Christmas spirit back on campus.

The holiday season is right around the corner and everyone on campus can almost hear the theater arts department practicing and rehearsing for The Holiday Spectacular.

With only 21 rehearsals in a short three-week time span, the students in this program are getting ready to showcase the 24-year running show to the Ada community November 15th through 17th.

Themes of 1968 stay relevant 50 years after Dr. Martin Luther King’s Speech

To honor Dr. King’s appearance at ONU half a century earlier, a panel discussion consisting of students and staff, present at the event recollected their experience on witnessing the speech almost exactly 50 years to the day. At the Freed Center for Performing Arts Biggs Theatre, a group of seven individuals who, at the time of Dr. King’s speech, were students, professors and staff at ONU reflected with comments the similarity of the themes of 1968 to the themes of today.

Check out some of these great shows that are coming to the Freed Center this Spring semester (photo by Ohio Northern University).

Ohio Northern University’s Freed Center for the Performing Arts will host an assortment of theater and musical performances for the Spring 2018 semester. From symphonies, musical tributes, plays surrounding love and coming-of-age tales, there is always a variety of performances to check out. 

The "Choreographers' Showcase" is the first Spring 2018 performance. On Feb. 3 at 7:30 p.m. in the Biggs Theatre, come see a wide variety of dance styles and performances. The Showcase can also be seen on Feb. 4 at 2 p.m. as well.

Iconic dance performances, powerful plays, haunting musicals, and 90-year anniversary concerts, these are just some of the Fall semester shows to expect at Ohio Northern University’s Freed Center for the Performing Arts. The Freed Center brings a variety of performances that are enjoyable for all ages and audiences and are sure to entertain.
