Normality Is Not A Specialty

At the local bowling alley, my friends are trying to find a pair of shoes that fit reasonably, a ball without gratuitously large finger holes, and, quite frankly, their bearings in what is a foreign spot to them.

I haul up my bowling bag I brought along, packed with two custom bowling balls, a pair of shoes with interchangeable bottoms, a rosin bag, a towel, and a glove, among other small commodities.

After facing a tragedy I was recommended to utilize ONU's counseling center as a resource. I quickly went from not even knowing where the building was to developing a strong relationship with the people who work there. My experience has been so amazing that I want to lead others in their direction.

People don’t realize how hard education majors actually have to work. (Northern Review photo/Emma Miller)

“You’re an education major? Wow, you must have it so easy!”

Any education major has heard phrases like this numerous times. Every single major is difficult in its own way. Each has its own assignments, challenges, and expectations. Education is not an exception.

Education majors are required to complete the same amount of credit hours as every other major in conjunction with completing field experience hours. Students could be required to complete up to 50 hours of field experience on top of regularly scheduled classes in a given semester.
