What's in the Office of a Quantum Chemist?

Rubber ducks, TARDIS’, and Wonder Woman themed objects decorate the office space of Dr. Trilisa Perrine, Computational Physical Quantum Chemist.  Dr. Perrine, Associate Professor of Chemistry, teaches a variety of general chemistry and physical chemistry courses.

She sits at her desk and tells the stories behind a few of her remembrances.  Her name plate has what appears to be a typical accent mark beneath her name and title but is actually a complex molecule she studied in graduate school. 

Dr. Thomas Hunt Retires after 10 Years with the Wind Orchestra

Dr. Thomas Hunt, typically donned in his notorious sweater vests, has been directing the Ohio Northern University Wind Orchestra for 10 years. After retiring from teaching in the spring of 2017, Dr. Hunt has decided that the spring of 2018 will be the last semester he directs the Wind Orchestra. Though he will still instruct French horn lessons on campus, his retirement from the Wind Orchestra will mark the end of a spirited and successful 10-year tenure directing one of Ohio Northern’s finest ensembles.

Dr. Holly Baumgartner, Dean of The Getty College, displays several of her most prized cameras from her collection of over 80. The Dean began collecting cameras when she was a freshman in college.

Visual media has become quite popular in the past decade with the development of smartphones and various social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat. Children and teenagers are quickly finding their way around the digital world. As a young college woman herself, Dean Holly Baumgartner found her way around the visual world after one visit to a flea market helped her to find a passion for old cameras.
