Richards, Molinaro to compete at Camel City Elite Races

Two of Ohio Northern’s most historically dominant runners, now seniors, will begin their final collegiate track seasons in North Carolina on Saturday.

Emily Richards, who owns the ninth-fastest time in the U.S. and 28th-fastest time in the world in the 800-meter dash, will headline that event at the Camel City Elite Races in Winston-Salem, NC. She will be joined by her 800-meter counterpart on the men’s track & field team, Matt Molinaro, who finished second and third in last year’s indoor and outdoor national championship 800-meter races, respectively.

Thick, dark netting suspends in the air of the Elzay Art Gallery, obscuring the sculptures from being clearly identified.  Only upon slipping through the netting one can properly enter, explore, and gaze upon the intricate varieties of sculptures that make up “Flight of Obscurity”.

With six regular season OAC games left on the schedule, the Ohio Northern men’s basketball team is right in the thick of things in the conference title race.

Northern is one of four teams that now have a realistic shot at the conference trophy -- and all are within one game of each other at the top of the OAC standings. John Carroll and Marietta are both 9-3 in the OAC, while Ohio Northern and Baldwin Wallace are both 8-4. Each team has six regular season OAC games left.

Themes of 1968 stay relevant 50 years after Dr. Martin Luther King’s Speech

To honor Dr. King’s appearance at ONU half a century earlier, a panel discussion consisting of students and staff, present at the event recollected their experience on witnessing the speech almost exactly 50 years to the day. At the Freed Center for Performing Arts Biggs Theatre, a group of seven individuals who, at the time of Dr. King’s speech, were students, professors and staff at ONU reflected with comments the similarity of the themes of 1968 to the themes of today.

Ohio Northern University’s Freed Center for the Performing Arts will host an assortment of theater and musical performances for the Spring 2018 semester. From symphonies, musical tributes, plays surrounding love and coming-of-age tales, there is always a variety of performances to check out. 

The "Choreographers' Showcase" is the first Spring 2018 performance. On Feb. 3 at 7:30 p.m. in the Biggs Theatre, come see a wide variety of dance styles and performances. The Showcase can also be seen on Feb. 4 at 2 p.m. as well. 

On the shoulders of giants, Bullimore makes history

With just over six minutes left in the third quarter of Wednesday night’s road game against Heidelberg, Amy Bullimore passed the ball to Jenna Dirksen at the top of the key. She then received a back-screen from Courtney Cramer, which allowed her to cut freely to the far block. Dirksen passed Bullimore the ball and she was hacked across the arm by a Heidelberg defender as she attempted a layup.
