Dr. Thomas Hunt, typically donned in his notorious sweater vests, has been directing the Ohio Northern University Wind Orchestra for 10 years. After retiring from teaching in the spring of 2017, Dr. Hunt has decided that the spring of 2018 will be the last semester he directs the Wind Orchestra. Though he will still instruct French horn lessons on campus, his retirement from the Wind Orchestra will mark the end of a spirited and successful 10-year tenure directing one of Ohio Northern’s finest ensembles.

Around 11 a.m. on Monday, ONU head baseball coach Gene Stechschulte sat at his desk, hunched over a stat sheet. He was visibly drained — bags under his eyes, fatigue in his voice.

He and his team had returned to Ada less than 12 hours earlier, having completed a Sunday road sweep of Mount Union, who won the OAC last year. They would have to turn around and face another conference juggernaut, Baldwin Wallace, on Tuesday at home. The turnaround was quick and the Yellow Jackets would be well-rested, having not played since they trounced lowly Wilmington last Friday.
