Just in time for Veteran's Day, the Freed Center for Performing Arts will premiere the next show in this year’s Performing Arts Series, “Beyond Glory,” on Monday, November 10, at 7:30 p.m.

“Beyond Glory” is a one-man show starring Stephen Lang, who recalls stories of eight veterans and their experiences in combat, which result in them receiving the prestigious Medal of Honor.

If the name Stephen Lang sounds familiar, it's because he is most known from the 2009 blockbuster movie, Avatar, as Colonel Miles Quaritch. Along with Avatar, Lang is credited for many off-broadway performances, as well as appearances in the Broadway plays “The Speed of Darkness", "A Few Good Men", and "Wait Until Dark.”

With the first Medal of Honor winner being from Kenton, Ohio, the Freed Center thought it would be great idea to honor the veterans and bring this show to the Biggs Theatre stage.

Freed Center Production Manager, Kathe DeVault, elaborated on what the audience can anticipate from Lang's performance.

"All of the props and costumes come out of a trunk, which will be used to tell the various stories. I think it will be great to see how one man tells all the stories. This show has been performed at the Goodman Theatre in Chicago, so you know it will be a quality show."

DeVault also expressed her excitement for the show and Lang, adding, "Stephan Lang is also a fabulous actor and I am most-excited about seeing him perform live, as opposed to on the screen."

If DeVault’s excitement doesn't make you want to see Beyond Glory, maybe this will:

Tickets are $5 for all ONU students and can be purchased at the Freed Center’s box office.
