Visiting artist Gary Lewis is the latest theatrical professional to pass along his expertise to Ohio Northern University theatre students. Lewis is serving as an assistant choreographer in the upcoming spring musical, The Drowsy Chaperone, and sharing insight on a variety of topics with members of the Black Student Union.

These ONU students are hoping to get where Lewis thrives in the New York City theatrical community. He made his Broadway debut as a cast member and assistant dance captain for the original production of Disney’s The Lion King. He followed the cast for its first national tour in 2001.

Students will have the opportunity to work alongside Lewis during open contemporary jazz and modern dance classes on Friday, March 20. The first session begins at 2 p.m., with another session at 3 p.m. Another workshop will be available on Tuesday, March 24 at 1:30 p.m.

All of these dance classes will be conducted in Room 314 of The Mathile Center. Students, faculty, and staff are welcome to attend.
