De-stress with final muscial performances

Over the year school year, Ohio Northern University’s Music Department has offered several music events for students and residents of the Ada community. These events have ranged from recitals to workshops, and even acclaimed visiting artists have shared their musical abilities at ONU. The year has been exciting, and the Music Department is eager to end the year with fun music events for everyone to enjoy.

On Sunday, April 27, the university’s select concert choir, University Singers, will perform for the ONU community in a recital. The recital begins at 7:30 p.m. and is inside Snyder Recital Hall inside Presser Hall, the Music Department’s building on campus. The ensemble will perform songs they have been working on this spring semester. The recital is free, and everyone is welcome to attend.

Also, on April 29, Ohio Northern’s Jazz Band will perform their spring semester work for the ONU community. Members of the jazz band have been working hard to create a fun music night with upbeat jazz music. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. and is inside the Freed Center’s Biggs Theatre, the main stage theatre on ONU’s campus. Tickets are $5 for ONU students and can be purchased at the Freed Center’s box office. For more information on this event, contact the Freed Center’s box office at 419-772-1900.

Music is a great way to end the school year. Students will be preparing and studying for their upcoming finals, and many seniors are ready to graduate and move onto the "real world." These two music events will allow students to relax and enjoy music with their friends instead of worrying about their classes.

The Music Department invites everyone to these events. It will be a great way to conclude the stressful school year.
