A beautiful, sunny day for football in Berea, Ohio on Saturday, brought a thrilling win for the Polar bear football squad, but the winning Quarterback, Patrick Angle, came home a winner and this weeks Northern Review athlete of the week!

Senior Quarterback, Patrick Angle, led his team to yet another come-from-behind victory on Saturday against OAC foe, Baldwin Wallace. The game started early in the favor of the Yellow jackets, but with a weaponized offense, Pat and his teammates managed to use all of the ice in their veins to come out victorious over B-W. “Getting a win on the road in this conference is very hard to do. We felt last year we should have won this game. Winning that game the way we did was very exciting because of the way we were able to come back twice while being down 14. I think it's huge that we are able to start the conference 1-0 because we play the top 4 teams from last year in the first 4 conference games this year, so starting off 1-0 ad being able to keep that momentum will be huge for us.” said Angle.

Pat has great dual threat ability at his position, and this helps open up the offense. Fast forward to the fourth quarter. The Polar bears have the ball and are trailing Baldwin Wallace by 11 with a score of 17-28. With the ball on his own 44-yard line, Pat got to call his own number and run with the rock. After making a few guys, Pat was standing in the end zone 56 yards later, to put his team within 4 points of the Yellow jackets. “As I came through the line I saw their safety run into the official and when I looked up I saw nothing but open field. The only thing on my mind at that point was to get into the end zone,” said Patrick, on his long scamper in Saturday’s game.

Pat didn’t only do it with his legs. His stats through the air were great as well, passing for 249 yards, four touchdown passes, and completing 59 percent of his passes. The most important of those passes, came in the last nine seconds of the contest. Pat dropped back to find, who else but his dangerous weapon in Devon Price, for a 10 yard touchdown and to notch a huge victory for ONU and coach Dean Paul.

Pat and his incredible leadership and resiliency have earned him the spot of this weeks Northern Review athlete of the week. Pat and his determination to win, embodies the ONU athlete and he has set a high bar for next week’s athlete of the week. Go Polar bears!
