Nothing signals a change in seasons at Ohio Northern University like a change in activities.  The Fall Carnival, held by Alpha Xi Delta and Sigma Phi Epsilon, is one of the few events that happen every fall. The carnival is an event held to raise money for Alpha Xi Delta’s philanthropy.

On Saturday, September 20, the Fall Carnival was happening as a part of Family Day at ONU.  According to Alpha Xi Delta's Philanthropy Chair, Tessa Cross, many from the Ada community, as well the students of ONU and their families, come and participate in the Fall Carnival.

The event is held annually to “raise awareness about the prevalence of autism among the community and the students,” says Cross. The money raised each year then goes directly to Autism Speaks.

The carnival included carnival games such as: a version of ring toss, pumpkin smashing, balloon darts and other activities such as corn hole, inflatables and face painting.  Participants could get food inside the house and receive prizes for playing the games.  Many local businesses helped out by donating prizes or items to be used throughout the day.
This year’s carnival raised $762 for donation.
