College pro-tips for the new semester

Let's all just take a minute and admit our collective hatred for the month of January, alright? Christmas is over, so the snow and cold feel completely unwarranted, break is over, classes resume and now you've got to try and remember not to go to your classrooms from last semester, lest you be greeted by people you've never seen before. Most people agree that it's the most depressing month of the year, and keep in mind that some of these "most" are people who attend universities in Florida, Hawaii and other gorgeous destinations.

Martin Luther King's legacy still felt today

Jan 22, 2014

Martin Luther King is a figure that I've learned about my whole life. It started as soon as I was in school and basically never stopped. I used to wonder why we studied him a little bit every year, until I was in the 10th grade. In our social studies class, we went on an in-depth walk through the Civil Rights Movement. I was so surprised to learn about Dr. King. He led the charge for the Civil Rights Movement for many years, facing threats of many kinds, including threats on his family. He was jailed, beaten and eventually killed for his beliefs.
