Playing basketball has been something he has done for many years. It expands all the way back to the fifth and sixth grade league and into to junior high. Not to mention the impactful four years of his high school basketball team.

Fencing Club gives sporting opportunities to students

Ohio Northern has a great variety of opportunities for students to participate in various sports. Ranging from basketball and soccer to Lacrosse, there are plenty of opportunities for students to get involved. One of the great sports opportunities here is the Fencing club.

Fencing is a sport based on sword fighting with various different types of swords. There are three disciplines in modern fencing which are the foil, the épée, and the sabre.

Ohio Northern University's 2018 Women’s Cross Country team pushed hard to pull a top-10 team finish at the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regionals held at Blue River Memorial Park in Shelbyville, Indiana Nov. 3.

Coach Jason Maus was impressed with the top-10 finish for his team.

Black Rose Rugby; Northern’s hidden talent

For the last 40 years the Black Rose Rugby team has been a part of Ohio Northern athletics. This club sport is comprised of approximately fourteen men who compete nine months out of the year. These athletes practice four times a week and work in the off seasons to better their skills and the program as a whole.

The team prides itself on being an accepting and an equal opportunity club. President and Coach of the team, Dylan Myers, hopes to make that message known to students.

This spring, Northern Review sports editor Grant Pepper followed the Ohio Northern men’s lacrosse team as they entered their third year of competition. The team finished seventh in the OAC in year one and fifth in year two, and this year they earned a share of their first conference title.
