Dominic Turnea is a freshman Marketing major at ONU. Despite many obstacles, both mental and verbal, Turnea thrives at Ohio Northern as an openly gay student. He is a member of Phi Mu Delta, the IFC, Circle K and the Open Doors Program.

Devon Price, Blake Lundy, Emily Runser and Christian Rupe are all seniors at Ohio Northern, and they are also all parents. Becoming parents at an early age has helped them mature quickly, as they have to balance school and parenthood.

A decade since Katrina: The journey of Sarah and Rob Waters

Ten years ago this August, Hurricane Katrina struck the Gulf Coast. Known as one of the deadliest hurricanes ever to reach U.S. shores, it scattered many New Orleans residents to other parts of the country. Two of those residents were Dr. Sarah and Rob Waters, who are both currently professors at Ohio Northern University (Sarah is an Associate Professor of Music and Rob is an Assistant Professor of History). They fled New Orleans with a suitcase, their two boys, and their cats. They thought they were coming back. Little did they know, Hurricane Katrina would change their lives forever.
