Being on college campuses, like Ohio Northern’s, can give students a false sense of safety when being surrounded by their peers. Students don’t realize everything they can implement to keep safe and knowledgeable throughout their years on campus.

I’m going to share my top five tips on how to keep aware and safe on campus. While these are tips for Ohio Northern’s campus, they can be used anywhere at anytime.

#1 - Always lock you doors

Several cars in and around campus had objects stolen from them the weekend before Easter break. Nothing of high value was stolen; the mos valuable t was a GPS. Currently, Ada PD has a suspect. None of the cars had evidence of forced entry.

Vandalism in Founder's Complex

On the night of Friday March 13, the Founder's complex was vandalized. The damage to bathrooms and common areas totals around $15,0000. ONU is holding those responsible accountable.

Suspicious activities and crime near campus

On Sunday, Nov. 16, a money bag from East of Chicago Restaurant was reported stolen to Ada Police. During the early morning hours of Monday, Nov. 17, an incident with a strange women occurred on campus, followed by a break-in at East of Chicago Restaurant. The incidents are being investigated by Ada police with no details of what was stolen being released.
