You probably need help filling out your bracket, right? Well' here are some of our picks in different categories that will hopefully provide you with some insight on how to win your bracket pool.

Player to watch

Chris: Doug McDermott, Creighton. The senior led the Blue Jays to a 26-7 record while averaging nearly 27 points and seven rebounds per game. McDermott is the kind of player who can take over a game and lead the Blue Jays on a deep run.

College basketball report and awards

We are currently about one month away from the NCAA Men’s basketball tournament. On March 16, the selection committee will compile the complete field of 68 teams who will begin their quest for Arlington, Texas, and the Final Four. While there are still a lot of things that can happen between now and then, some things are starting to take shape. Most teams have between seven and 10 games remaining and then their respective conference tournaments. However, if the season were to end today, here is how I see it shaking out: (All stats and records are as of Feb. 8)

As many of us know, it is time for the XXII Winter Olympic Games to be held in Sochi, Russia. After the Olympic torch has finally been lit, it is time for the puck to drop. The 2014 Olympic Men’s Hockey Tournament will begin on Feb. 8, with the gold medal game concluding Feb. 23. It is hard to imagine the effort it took to piece together the rosters that will represent their country for two short weeks. A lot of hard work has been put in by many to grasp Olympic gold and glory.
