Where does ONU stand on kneeling?

Sunday was a day of righteous, widespread protest in the NFL.

Many teams linked arms during the National Anthem, while some individual players kneeled, sat or stretched as it was played before kickoff. A handful of teams stayed in the locker room.

King Horn weight room receives substantial upgrade

For the first time since 2003, the King Horn Sports Center weight room has new equipment.

The ONU athletic department gave the old equipment to Diamond Sports in exchange for a credit, which they used to buy a completely new set from Legend Fitness. ONU athletic director Tom Simmons said that the university helped with the capital request for the equipment.

Delegates vote against controversial Division III graduate transfer proposal

A proposal that would allow student-athletes with remaining eligibility to transfer from Division I or II schools to finish their collegiate careers at the Division III level, while also attending graduate school, was defeated on the final day of the NCAA’s annual convention, Jan. 21.

The controversial proposal failed 291-175, with delegates from all D-III schools voting at the convention.

Lacrosse kicks off at ONU

Per student request, men’s and women’s lacrosse will begin on the campus of Ohio Northern University this February. Lacrosse, a popular sport that is growing in the United States, now evolves to Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio. A double header game will be held at Dial-Roberson Stadium on February 27 at 1 pm for the men and 4 pm for the women.
