Do you remember the moment that you realized what you wanted to be in life? What was that moment; when was it? Did it happen yet?

For Brett Deubner, an international solo violist, that moment was clear. Nine years ago, Brett walked onto the stage in front of the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra to perform a then-new viola concerto composed by Lalo Schifrin. Looking out at the audience, and hearing their applause, Brett was filled with a sense of pride and accomplishment he hadn’t felt before, and at that moment he knew he wanted to keep doing that for the rest of his life.

Millennials have more debt and higher costs of living than any previous generation. The debt we rack up in our early adult lives prevents many of us from making investments later. Over 23 percent of millennials say their credit score has cost them a home, a loan or a new line of credit. This debt is clearly correlated to the rising costs of living and education, even considering other factors, such as inflation.

Being on college campuses, like Ohio Northern’s, can give students a false sense of safety when being surrounded by their peers. Students don’t realize everything they can implement to keep safe and knowledgeable throughout their years on campus.

I’m going to share my top five tips on how to keep aware and safe on campus. While these are tips for Ohio Northern’s campus, they can be used anywhere at anytime.

#1 - Always lock you doors
