What is music? Jessica Wise defines her passion

What is music? According to the Merriam Webster Dictionary “music is the science or art of ordering tones or sounds in succession, in combination, and in temporal relationship to produce a composition having unity and continuity”.

This definition only addresses the science behind the music, and most of us don’t consider the science when we are walking to class listening to our IPod.  At Ohio Northern University we are among a select group of students who dedicate their time and studies to create those combination of sounds.

Ohio Northern University's undergraduate literary journal, "Polaris," presented its annual Valentine's Day Rapid Fire Reading on Feb. 14. Students brought a variety of favorite poems, stories and original work for the Ada community.

After graduating and earning his master's degree in arts, Dylan Wood has remained a promising and passionate individual for Ohio Northern’s Freed Center for the Performing Arts.  Most impressively, Wood has aspired to continue the tradition of not only supporting students in the arts, but to provide them with educational values.

Broadway performer Ben Vereen gave a show at the Freed Center for the Performing Arts on Saturday Jan. 28, dancing and singing through pieces from his various performances and others that were close to him while he speaking on the importance of equality and the arts.
