I'm a Muslim, and ISIS and 9/11 don't define me

As a Muslim, my religion often comes under attack at the hands of my fellow Americans. Why am I, and a huge portion of the world's population, being blamed for the actions of an extreme minority? It is said that we, as peaceful Muslims, "don't speak out enough." But I'm a Muslim and we do speak out. You just don't hear us.

But first, let me take a selfie!

There are many social media sites through which to share information--with friends, and strangers. (Photo/ ODM Group)

In today’s world of increasing dependence on technology, we find that our lives are revolving more and more around the Internet, mobile phones, snapping selfies, doing duck faces, and watching videos of cats.

But this bubble that we live in does not always prove to be the safest space. That we have access to terabytes of information through the click of a mouse or touch of a screen is great. But it also means that others have that same power, too.

IT’S TIME TO PLAY DIRTY! At least for those interested in Mud Volleyball, that is.

Founder’s Mud Volleyball is an annual event where student teams can play in a single elimination volleyball tournament—in the mud.

Hannah Gustafson, one of the people in charge of the event, feels that it is a great way to meet new people and really get involved on campus.

It’s really become an ONU tradition, she said. Even President DiBiasio will be playing on a student team. And what better way to get acquainted, than by getting down and dirty with your friends?
