ONU Student Senate reveals election timeline

ONU Student Senate met for its first weekly meeting of the new year Jan. 16, which began with the swearing in of new housing representative Madison Carpenter, a sophomore political science major, who will be representing Affinity housing residents.

Senate advisor Dr. Adriane Thompson-Bradshaw announced the employment of ONU’s newest mental health counselor, Marcia Kostoff.

Counseling Center Director stepping down

The Counseling Center has become a great resource for many students at Ohio Northern University. They provide a wide variety of services from treating anxiety and depression to defeating addictions.

Dr. Michael Schafer, who has been the practicing psychologist as well as the director at the Center for the past 12 years, is stepping down from the position effective Dec. 31. He will continue to practice psychology at Professional Psychological Associates  in Lima, Ohio.

How the ONU counseling center helped me become a senior

After facing a tragedy I was recommended to utilize ONU's counseling center as a resource. I quickly went from not even knowing where the building was to developing a strong relationship with the people who work there. My experience has been so amazing that I want to lead others in their direction.

Pharmacy organizations to enhance mental health awareness in Mental Health Week

Multiple ONU pharmacy student organizations intend to enhance mental health awareness in a week-long campus campaign, Mental Health Week. The week will feature three events in which all students are encouraged to participate to learn valuable information about mental health illnesses.
