ONU Student Senate reveals election timeline

ONU Student Senate met for its first weekly meeting of the new year Jan. 16, which began with the swearing in of new housing representative Madison Carpenter, a sophomore political science major, who will be representing Affinity housing residents.

Senate advisor Dr. Adriane Thompson-Bradshaw announced the employment of ONU’s newest mental health counselor, Marcia Kostoff.

Alumni Affinity becomes focus of 2018 Homecoming

ONU ‘90 alumna and director of alumni relations Barbara Meek took the podium at Senate’s most recent meeting Sept. 19. Meek, in preparation for Homecoming, wanted to address a couple of policy changes related to student organizations and the Homecoming tent.

According to Meek, the Office of Alumni Relations’ purpose is “to build, sustain, and recognize relationships to support ONU.”

The 2018-2019 Cabinet of Ohio Northern's Student Senate poses for a picture. The newest administration is lead by senior political science major Seth Ferguson and fifth-year pharmacy major Mary Komandt.

The Ohio Northern University Student Senate hit the ground running, holding its first general meeting of the academic year Aug. 22.

While the meeting was located to the McIntosh Ballroom, which did not have an American flag displayed or means to project the meeting’s agenda, it was nonetheless a productive one.

Senate Beat: Siblings Weekend preview

This weekend, approximately one thousand family members of Ohio Northern students will come to campus to enjoy a weekend of festivities.

There will be movies on the tundra, food trucks, live bands, magicians and more. In addition, attending the festivities will be free of charge.

The first ever Family and Siblings Weekend, hosted by the Student Senate and co-sponsored by the Student Planning Committee, Greek Life and Northern Christian Fellowship, however, could not be executed without the blood, sweat and tears of Senate forums secretary Derek Price.
